This work has been cited 7015 times within scientific literature. I also sit on the Editorial Boards of four reputable, international scientific journals and regularly peer-review papers for journals within the field of Analytical Chemistry.\u00a0 I was an invited session chair for an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/si\/metabolites\/2nd_International_Electronic_Conference_Metabolomics\">international scientific conference in autumn 2017 <\/a>and I have been interviewed for expert opinion by the scientific media on several occasions (e.g.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.genomeweb.com\/archive\/meta-metabolomics\">https:\/\/www.genomeweb.com\/archive\/meta-metabolomics<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.genengnews.com\/magazine\/metabolomics-research-picks-up-speed\/2\/\">https:\/\/www.genengnews.com\/magazine\/metabolomics-research-picks-up-speed\/2\/<\/a>) .<\/p>\n<p>My experience as a research active scientist at the cutting-edge of my field gives me a working knowledge of science and statistics well beyond the school-based curriculum, whilst also having an in-depth knowledge of areas required to be successful at GCSE and A&#8217; level.\u00a0 That deeper level of understanding allows me to be able to find new ways to explain concepts students find tricky in ways which are accessible to students.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chemucation.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/thumb_UnivNottingham_IMG_12302452222323.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-302 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chemucation.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/thumb_UnivNottingham_IMG_12302452222323-187x300.jpg\" alt=\"thumb_UnivNottingham_IMG_12302452222323\" width=\"361\" height=\"579\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.chemucation.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/thumb_UnivNottingham_IMG_12302452222323-187x300.jpg 187w, http:\/\/www.chemucation.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/thumb_UnivNottingham_IMG_12302452222323.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 361px) 100vw, 361px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Picture:<\/strong> A PhD student from my research group tuning the newly installed 600 MHz NMR spectrometer at the University of Nottingham<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over an 18 year period as a research-active scientist, I have published my work extensively in peer-reviewed journals and at international conferences.
